High Level Visit at NATO MW COE
The NATO Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence (MW COE) had an honourable opportunity to host another high level visit, on 25th January in Poljče, Slovenia.
The Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Croatia, H.E. Damir Krstičević, with his delegation, welcomed the members of the NATO MW COE warmly.
H.E. Minister Krstičević stated:”I am glad to have a chance to visit the NATO MW COE here in Slovenia and you have all my support for the work done”, further emphasising the importance of peace and stability. The Minister also stated that the Centre has a great vision to become a hub for Mountain Warfare within the Alliance. He pointed out the opportunity to have in the Centre Lieutenant Colonel Dražen Komadina, the HRV senior national representative and the Education and Training Branch Head, to contribute the Republic of Croatia with the knowledge and experiences gained here in the COE.
Madam Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia, H.E. Andreja Katič thanked her Croatian colleague Minister for the role of the Republic of Croatia in the NATO MW COE and committed to further strengthened cooperation within the COE.
During his presentation, Colonel Boštjan Blaznik, the NATO MW COE Director, emphasised his appreciation for hosting such a high level visit and stressed the important role of all Sponsoring and Partner Nations’ contributions to the increased interoperability and development of the Alliance in the field of Mountain Warfare. He also announced the activities of the MW COE in Croatia this year. This will be in additional benefit of sharing the knowledge and experience.
