German General Matz visit in NATO MW COE
The German commander of the Infantry School and General of the Infantry, General Michael MATZ, visited the NATO Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence (MWCOE) in Slovenia from 18th to 19th of April 2023.
After the welcome by the Director of the MWCOE, Colonel Borut FLAJŠMAN, General MATZ was informed about the structure and tasks of the MWCOE. In presenting the MWCOE, COL FLAJŠMAN underlined the great importance of close cooperation in a multinational environment, especially considering the current security situation. In further talks, the possibilities of cooperation, particularly with the Mountain and Winter Warfare School in MITTENWALD, were discussed, and fields of further cooperation were explored.
