Accreditation of the MW COE as NATO Military Body

One of the most significant events for the MW COE was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Establishment of the NATO Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence (MW COE), which was signed in Washington D.C. on 25 March 2015. Slovenia acts as the Framework Nation for MW COE along with Croatia, Germany and Italy, and Austria as a Partner Nation.

On 27 November 2015, the next significant step for the MW COE was taken. Under a silence procedure, the North Atlantic Council approved the accreditation of the Mountain Warfare Centre as a twenty-second NATO Centre of Excellence and its activation as a NATO Military Body.
