Celebrating HRV National Day

On 3 August, the NATO Mountain Warfare Centre of Excellence (NATO MW COE) Education and Training Branch Head, Lieutenant Colonel Dražen Komadina, hosted the Croatian National Day celebration for the NATO MW COE staff members and guests. For that occasion, delicious national food was served in a cosy Croatian atmosphere.

The Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and the Day of Croatian Defenders  is a public holiday in the Republic of Croatia. It is held as a memorial to its War of Indepedence, celebrated on 5 August and is a commemoration of the military action known as Operation Storm that gained independence for Croatia in 1995.[envira-gallery id=”1659″]
