Flood Relieve Efforts by NATO MW COE personnel

The Framework Nation of the NATO Mountain Warfare Center (MW COE), Slovenia, has been hit by heavy rains and dramatically affected by the worst flooding in decades, causing severe damage to 2/3 of the country.  The government is already talking about damages in billions of Euros. In the home municipality of the NATO MW COE, Begunje na Gorenjskem, too, the damage is enormous.

On Friday, 4 August 2023, parts of the COE had to be cleared of mud by the COE staff.

On Monday and on Wednesday, the members of the NATO MW COE assisted its local community in the settlement of Begunje na Gorjenskem in mitigating the flood damage. The main focus of the assistance, especially on Wednesday, was to support the hospital in Begunje na Gorenjskem.
