NATO COE Directors Conference
The 2016 NATO Centres of Excellence (COE) Directors Conference was held from 3 to 6 October in Vilnius, Lithuania, in co-organization with the ACT/Transformational Network Branch and the NATO Energy Security COE. The Conference was among others attended by the NATO Mountain Warfare COE Director.
The conference focused on the results of the Warsaw Summit, updates on the HQ SACT NATO COE developments and the NATO COE Security oversight. In addition to other significant issues allowing a successful work of the COEs, it provided an opportunity to exchange information and best practice from NATO COEs, as well as to give recommendations for improving the process of the POW, advocating a federated approach as a new principle of how to merge and effectively respond to the POW requests.
As one of the highlights of this event, the Lithuanian Minister of Defence Dr. Juozas Olekas gave a key note presentation to the participants. The conference met all expectations and developed a platform for meeting future challenges.
